Miller Homes Review 06/03/10
Garstang Blues extended their lead at the top of the table as they cruised to victory over Fleetwood 3rds. The win was sweetened further when the team later found out that Penrith 3rds had only managed a draw against Carnforth 2nds (17-17). With that draw they were leapfrogged by Tarleton 2nds who got a walkover win against Furness 2nds. That was the disappointing thing in the league as there were two walkover games with Blackburn 3rds also conceded.
Miller Homes Four North:
BAE Warton 1 10-5 Fylde 5
Preston GH 5 W-L Blackburn 3
Tarleton 2 W-L Furness 2
Thornton 2 62-0 Ormskirk 4
Carnforth 2 17-17 Penrith 3
Garstang Blues 55-0 Fleetwood 3
In Five North the Lions continued their resurgence as they posted a big win over Bolton 4ths. Having watched the Blues the Lions knew that they had a lot to live up to and they certainly did that as they scored forty six points. However, the ten points which they did concede were very disappointing and let the club down on the weekend! (tongue firmly in cheek there!) That win lifts the Lions up into the heady heights of third place in the league.
