North Lancs One Review 20/02/10

Garstang’s game against promotion hopefuls, Didsbury Toc H, was called off on Saturday due to a frozen pitch.  This postponement adds to the fixture backlog and a new date for the game will be arranged in due course.

Elsewhere, De La Salle won the big game of the day as they maintained their superb record for the season with a narrow 17-16 win at Trafford MV.  Although no prizes are awarded at this stage of the season that win will go a long way to securing promotion for the Salford-based outfit.

At the bottom Old Bedians recent improved form nearly saw them claim a decent scalp at Ashton.  However, their efforts were in vain as they were narrowly pipped by 18 points to 15.  Tarleton, like Garstang a fortnight earlier, pushed Littleborough to the wire but could not finish off the job as they were beaten at home by 15 to 7.
