During the 2006/7 season Garstang Rugby Union Football Club fielded two regular senior teams. The First XV played in North Lancs Two and gained promotion, finishing as runners-up in the league. The Second XV, known as The Blues, played in Miller Homes Five North and they also won promotion as they won the league title.

The 2006/7 season also saw the creation of two new teams within the club. The Third XV, known as the Lions, played a handful of friendly games in the second half of the season. The Veterans XV, known as the Old Viagrans, went on a highly successful tour to Stourbridge and then played a testimonial game at Preston Grasshoppers.

In 2006/7 the First XV will be playing in North Lancs One as well as competing in the Lancashire Plate and the EDF Energy Senior Vase.

The Blues will be playing in Miller Homes Division Four North as well as competing in the Halbro Trophy.

The Lions will be hoping to get an increased fixture list and will be looking to compete in 10 to 12 Friendly fixtures throughout the course of the season.

The Old Viagrans will, as last season, be an invitational team and they will be looking to play two or three games over the course of the season. We are seeking players of all ages (seventeen and over) or any standard. So if you are a top class player, a social player or a total newcomer to the game and are looking to be involved come down and see for yourself.

We also have a mini-rugby section catering for primary age pupils. The children initially train together but are later split into the different age groups to cater for the different levels of permitted contact, ranging from Under 8 - no contact (tag rugby) to Under 11 which involves tackling, rucking and mauling.
